A weekend away… Relax, recharge, & reconnect.

Whether you’re traveling with your mom, sisters, or girlfriends, nothing beats a self-care weekend with your favorite ladies. Head to the Brainerd Lakes for a quick getaway that will leave you feeling refreshed!

You’ll find this time of year quieter as winter activities are winding down, and it’s before the rush of summer tourists. It’s the perfect time to visit if you’re looking to kick back and enjoy a slower pace. But that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to do here—you can do as much or as little as you want!

The science is sound. Carving time out for yourself helps reduce stress, improve energy, and increase happiness—especially in challenging times we’ve had over the last year. What better way to practice self-care than at a spa or salon taking some downtime to get pampered with a massage, facial, hair, or nail service. You’ll leave the Brainerd Lakes feeling rejuvenated, and you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.

Some of our lodging properties even have day spas on property with relaxation packages making it easy to bundle your lodging and spa experience.

Your health and well-being are our top priority. Spas and salons are following COVID safety protocols with extra cleaning and, in some cases, reduced services for the safety of staff and guests.

Start your weekend retreat off low-key and casual with a specialty coffee from one of our local coffee shops. No interruptions. No rush. Just coffee, a scone, or some avocado toast. Or head to Knotty Pine Bakery for a homemade pastry made with real, fresh ingredients.

Grabbing a bite to eat and enjoying adult conversations with your favorite ladies—doesn’t that sound amazing?! If you’re looking for fine dining or dining in an igloo, you’ll find it here. We also have restaurants with amazing chefs who are always putting unique twists on old favorites or creating new, contemporary dishes. If you like authentic restaurants serving Italian, pizza, BBQ, and seafood, know that we have that, too. Whatever you and your friends are craving, you’ll find a restaurant sure to please! If you’re looking to stay in but you don’t want to cook, you can easily order take out or delivery!

Don’t forget the sweets! Stop by one of these local chocolatiers who make homemade chocolates right here in the Brainerd Lakes.

Take some time to indulge at Wildflower Chocolates in Nisswa. Wildflower Chocolates uses fresh ingredients from local farms and its own culinary garden. You don’t want to miss the salted caramels or caramel s’mores!

They also host in-kitchen workshops where you can get hands on creating and tasting fine chocolate—a fun activity for a group friends.

Fancy Pants Chocolates in downtown Brainerd is a chocolate lover’s paradise. The cases are full of delights like truffles, sea salt caramels, peanut butter cups, and chocolate covered cherries. All chocolates are made in-house!
