Historical Museums
The Crow Wing County Historical Society traces the memories of Indians as well as logging and mining in the area. Minnesota’s Military Museum is just south of Brainerd at Camp Ripley and offers a glimpse into the tradition of our armed services. The Pequot Lakes Historical Society showcases the strength and connectedness of the people in our northwoods communities.

Interactive Museums & Historical Parks
The Crosslake Historical Society’s Historic Village and Museum features an audio tour and authentic buildings. Also in Crosslake is the Northern Trackers Railroad Museum which features trail models replicating the logging and mining industries of the area in the early 1900s. The Croft Mine Historical Park in Crosby allows you to explore an old mine shaft. Experience the rich culture and traditions at the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post. Explore years gone by when you tour Paul Bunyan Land at This Old Farm Pioneer Village.

National Registry of Historic Places
Many buildings throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area are noted as being a part of the “National Registry of Historical Places.” Be sure to note their distinction.
