Paul and Babe continue to be an important part of any visit to the Brainerd Lakes Area. The most famous statue of Paul is now located at Paul Bunyan Land at This Old Farm Pioneer Village, 7 miles east of Brainerd on Highway 18. There they are surrounded by the entire collection of rides from the former Paul Bunyan Amusement Center (which closed in 2003), adjacent to the antiques and memories of This Old Farm. The park is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The newest Paul can be found at the Brainerd Lakes Area Welcome Center on Hwy 371 South. Permanently seated outside the Welcome Center, Paul is eager to greet the children and adults that will stop to visit for generations to come.
There is also a smaller version of Paul and Babe located at the historic water tower on the corner of South 6th Street (or Business Hwy 371) and Washington Street (or Hwy 210).

Other symbols of Paul’s legend are also found throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area, such as:

  • Paul Bunyan's flashlight (historic water tower in Brainerd)
  • Bobber from his fishing pole (water tower in Pequot Lakes)
  • Old wooden baby shoe (inside Pine River Information Center )
  • Old wooden axe (outside Ace Hardware in Crosslake)
