If you are hearing the cry, “There’s nothing to do,” don’t fret. You simply haven’t been introduced to the great Brainerd Lakes Area, where fun-filled activities fill the calendar of events year-round. August is a perfect example. Consider all these fun vacation options you have in this beautiful Minnesota vacation destination region.
NHRA Nationals: For the first time in NHRA history, two women drivers, Courtney Force and Erica Enders, visited victory circle in the same event at the last NHRA race this season. Force defeated the Funny Car field, which includes her famous father John Force, and Enders was top in Pro Stock. Their next races will be the 31st Annual NHRA Lucas Oil Natiionals at Brainerd International Raceway. Can they defend their wins? Get your nitro fix and join the fun at BIR.- American Barnstormers Tour: The American Barnstormers Tour, featuring restored vintage biplanes with open cockpits, is coming August 12-14 to Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport. Each day also will feature the “Barnstormers Parade of Flight.”
Street Fest on 7th: Enjoy ribs, live music from such talents as The Voice contestant Tim Mahoney, bean bag tournament, children’s activities, and more – another great community event hosted by the Brainerd Jaycees.
