Brainerd Lakes Fishing Report June 20-26, 2012
Walleyes can be found shallow and on mid-summer structure. The fish that are shallow are relating to tall cabbage in 8-12 feet of water. Pitch a jig and a minnow or a jig and some Gulp. The fish that are on the mid-summer structure can be found in 20-25 feet of water. Live bait rigging redtails or shiners is the best option for taking the deeper fish.
The bite is still very good on Mille Lacs. Fish are being found on the edges of the flats in 25-28 feet of water. Lindy rigs and leeches are still producing but the spinner bite is picking up as well. The bobber bite is still a great fish producer on either the reefs or the mud in the evening. Smallmouth are going on the rocks with tubes jigs or senkos being the best options.
